So the stock TT alternator took a dump, did the I30 conversion with the unorthodox racing, UD pulley set. It started screeching on the way home, so when I got home I tightened the alternator belt to 1/4" between the crank and alternator pulley, it still screeched and the A/C tensioner was making noise, so I cut the A/C belt. Which introduced a very high pitched and annoying metallic screeching noise whenever there is extra load placed on the alternator at idle (my electric fan) If I plug my battery charger in and put it on 10 amps with the car running the screeching stops, if I turn it off it goes back to screeching. when I'm at a stop if I go with my fan on it will screech and continue screeching, if I go with my fan off and then turn it on, it won't make any noise until I stop again. I replaced the battery with a new red top and the alternator is a reman duracrap that tested to factory spec before I installed it. Any suggestions or comments?
